PDF only · max 10MB · files auto-delete after 1 hour
How it works
Upload a PDF, optionally choose a page range, and get its text back as a plain .txt file — either one combined file with page markers, or a ZIP with one file per page. Files are deleted from our servers automatically after one hour.
FAQ
- Does this work on scanned PDFs?
- Only if the PDF already has a text layer. A scanned PDF with no text needs OCR first — try our OCR PDF tool, then extract text from the result.
- What's the difference between one file and one per page?
- One combined file has every page's text in order, marked with page headers. One-per-page gives you a ZIP with a separate .txt file for each page — useful when you only need a few pages from a long document.
- Does this preserve formatting like tables or columns?
- No — this is plain text extraction, reading order only. For tables specifically, try our Extract Tables tool instead.
